Every day The Basics for Phoenix phone line gets calls from social workers, school counselors, church leaders, and other community advocates asking for furniture pieces and help to get struggling children, young adults and families out of difficult situations.
Many people are cut off and isolated from their family, friends and support systems. Specially in these times of illness, uncertainty and difficulty. Some may require a bed and a few furniture pieces. Someone may be struggling to make ends meet and needs the attire and haircut for a better job or the parent taking their children out of a toxic home. Whatever the need, The Basics for Phoenix assesses the need and supports the needs of our community. Response to each situation is always unique, since each person’s story and struggles are always unique.

Do you have unwanted furniture you would like to donate? We accept furniture that is new or gently used and clean.
Donating furniture to The Basics For Phoenix is a great way to upcycle furniture you no longer need and make an impact for good at the same time. There are many Phoenix children and families who are living without basic necessities such as beds, dining tables, and sofas.
With your donated furniture pieces we have the ability to help struggling children, young adults aging out of the foster care system, the forgotten elderly and impoverished families live in a comfortable, secure environment where their basic needs are met. Having a bed to sleep on, a sofa to relax on, and a dining table to eat at helps bring a sense of belonging and security to our underprivileged Phoenix residents.

Below is a comprehensive list of items that The Basics for Phoenix accepts. All donated beds and furniture items must be in new or gently used condition, so our families can receive decent usable items. Please NO peelings, stains, odors, rips or pet hair on furniture.
The Basics for Phoenix picks up from most of the greater Phoenix Metropolitan area.

2. Send pictures AND major cross streets via text to 602-527-5734 or email to office@basicsforphx.org (so we know how big is the load is and general pick-up area)
3. We will reply back in a timely matter to schedule pick up
4. Items off your hands (and space!), you receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes and items are donated to a family very much in need.

Giving cash is an easy way to help The Basics for Phoenix purchase mattresses for recipients at low prices, cover delivery expenses and above all help our case by case Community Strong program. Help purchase supplies for teachers classrooms, help provide professional haircuts and nail trimming for seniors in assisted living facilities, help young adults coming out of foster care transition into their own home and many other cases that need our communities attention.

The Basics for Phoenix is not open to the general public. Instead, we work directly with family and social service representatives within organizations to help identify the most vulnerable members in our communities. These organizations identify and refer individuals and families that are in true hardship situations.
While some organizations qualify people based on income, citizenship status, housing situation, or other parameters, The Basics for Phoenix is different. We are open to serve the most underprivilege and underserved members in our communities regardless of income level, citizenship status, or other parameters. The only qualification that must exist in the eyes of the referring party (school or social services representative) is a true need for assistance.
